Entry # 2

Every day I hear a new atrocity that occur on my people "The Assyrians". The  Assyrians, the indigenous people of  Iraq. They are the root of this country; the people who created civilization, set government, made laws and created first libraries and first schools.
Cuneiform writing, Tree of Life and God Ashur, King Sennacherib in the presence of God Ashur

Today we see these people who contributed in building ancient world and modern Iraq being abandoned and left for extinction and destruction by the barbarous group of  the "Islamic state of Iraq and Syria"(ISIS), breaks my heart. More than 100.000 Assyrians were displaced from their lands that they lived in for thousands of years, their daughters taken captives and raped and their churches destroyed.

Displaced Assyrians found refuge in the churches of the cities uncontrolled by ISIS
Displaced Assyrians who lost their houses living in tents.

The whole world watched the Assyrian Genocide occurring on TVs, magazines, social networking and the world kept silent. It kept silent to the savage acts of ISIS. It kept silent to the destruction of civilization.

If we continue our silence toward these atrocities, the world will fall for this savage ideology, and there will be the"weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.". "Mathew 8:12"

Entry # 1

How similar our world is to the Bee World. Everybody running around; jobs, schools, family, friends, none stop. Within this world, we see and hear a lot of events happening here and there, and thanks to technology, we can all see what's happening in our countries or the world,  and we connect to events or people in a positive or a negative way.

I enjoyed reading HUFFPOST POLITICS blog for it reflects different view points from different fields "politics, business, media, worldpost, sports, tech and other fields that each and every one of us may feel related to. in this blog I could follow up the changes in the government decisions like the new budget deal which will supposedly "end the debt default coming within days" according to Sam Stein and Arthur Delaney Senior Editor and Reporters of the blog: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/budget-deal-near_562ecf9ee4b00aa54a4af738?ir=Politics&section=politics.
Or news about the world around us like the dangers of ice sheets melting in Green land which is happening so fast that will result in rising the sea levels in few decays http://nyti.ms/1LUlZhc.

On the other hand, we always face those blogs that you just start reading and you suddenly stop and ask yourself, why am I reading this? One of these blogs is TMZ "gossip blog". Why would people care if Halle Berry is the one who petitioned for divorce or her husband?, or why Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone split. I truly believe that celebrities are human beings just like us; individuals who need some privacy and  a normal life. We all have some celebrities that we adore so much, but why do we need to care about every single breath they take, and who they share it with?

Hello, my name is Nineveh. I am originally from Iraq. Living in a country torn by war, I grew up listening to political views and analysis from family members or community in general, that's why I consider politics part of my everyday life. For me news and political shows are the core of my everyday life.I enjoy reading and I like to read any kind of books that shed light on human aspiration and potentials such as history, archeology, philosophy and literature. I also like to travel and learn about other culture's food, music and life style. I am a student at Glendale Community College. I am planning to major in social working and I will be transferring my credits to ASU in the future.
